This tactical dreamlight puts out 75 lumens in a most useful distribution of light where you can illuminate a room from the doorway. The wide beam covers an 8 foot circle from 10 feet away with a concentration in about 40% of the center. The quality of the light is remarkable as well, no yellowish tinge, no hotspot that reflects uncomfortably back into your eyes. The color of the beam is very white without any blue tones, really excellent to recognize objects in the dark. The 5 Watt LED is rated at 50,000 hours and is powered by 2 CR123A Lithium batteries (included). If you use a flashlight a lot, this is a good choice because you will not need new lamps that cost $20-$30 each for the name-brand lights. You could use this flashlight for 8 hours a day for almost 18 years before you would have to change the bulb.The body is aluminum, coated with a virtually indestructable high strength optical grade epoxy and Type II hard anodized to keep its good looks for a long time. It is much lighter than other flashlights in its class, a mere 3.7 oz. including the batteries. The on/off tailcap switch is covered in rubber to complete the waterproof nature of this flashlight. The battery life is full light for about an hour with still usable light available for several more hours. Also built in to the design is a crenallated bezel to enable use of the flashlight as a weapon or you can set the light on its crown and still know that it is on. So after spending $161 you can find your way down the movie aisle but that's about it.
